The intimate relationship between nature and daily life creates visual and interior balances that put the mind and body at rest, giving the positive feeling of living free, even at home.
The concept of freedom is on everyone’s lips, amplified in endless shades that touch various themes and situations.
Freedom of speech, thought, movement, action… And the freedom to feel free within the walls of a house, not only because you feel at ease and magnificently, but because the surrounding landscape, so rich and luxuriant, allows us to travel with the imagination beyond the boundaries of concrete.
Feeling captured by the surrounding environment is a satisfying and engaging perception, especially when nature knocks on the windows of our house and, one step outside the door, it softly touches our feet, giving us its colours in every season, without lifting a finger, comfortably lying on the sofa, either while dining or from the bedroom.

Mark and Allison, who live here with their two daughters, know well these pleasant sensations since they experience them every day, with the privilege of living in this splendid abode inside the Ku-ring-gai Chase aboriginal park, in Bayview, a heavenly marine inlet 30 km north of Sydney.
Even looking at the images of this abode – tickled on all sides by lush nature – unleashes our imagination and projects us into the wild enchantment of a jungle in which anything can happen…
What actually happens is that, instead of a cabin in the jungle, we are in front of an amazing house with a modern and captivating design, full of windows, light and spaces, together with the power of nature that peacefully coexists with the residents.

This work is signed by the interior designer Pamela Makin, who oversaw the layout and furnishings of all the rooms. In perfect harmony with the couple, who left her wide freedom, the interior designer skilfully worked in contrast with the outside, minimizing the decoration of spaces and focusing on iconic pieces of design.
Light and dark, ancient and modern contrasts, mixed with some ethnic-tribal elements, build the living path that begins with a large space dedicated to relaxation, overlooking the fireplace and nature, for every occasion.
Next to it, always open and facing the outside, there is the dining area where, at any time of the year, you can conceptually have lunch and dinner outdoors.

Even in the bedroom, the spectacular nature never ceases to surprise, almost caressing the residents’ sleep. Eames and Van Der Rohe dominate among the design pieces, as well as Lissoni for Living Divani. Then, basalt floors, black wooden walls, and exposed beams.
Considering that four people live here, everything is in the name of comfort and functionality, enriched by Indian and Turkish vases, pieces of African craftsmanship, bright cushions and paintings on the walls.
Outside, the sea, and the flourishing nature that bursts majestically, visible through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows.
Mark told us: “We immediately fell in love with Bayview. Here, immersed in deep tranquillity, the quality of life is better than in Sydney. You go boating and fishing, always surrounded by this beauty that leaves you breathless.”
