A masterful blend of styles characterizes “The house of the ancient mulberry trees”, a completely unconstrained project, where creativity has flourished

Two interior designers and their relaxation space: a combination that can only unleash an explosion of decorating ideas and happy intuitions. Roberto Barbero and José Maria Rodriguez, of Studio Rodriguez, looked for their home for the weekend around Alassio.

“The house of the ancient mulberry trees” was in fact consistently designed according to a careful mix between past and present.

The ancient stone interior seamlessly blends with modern and functional finishes, while vintage furniture, sourced from flea markets in Southern France, blends with contemporary textiles and luxurious boxes.

A home that not only prioritizes aesthetics but also embraces sustainability, powered by solar energy and exceptionally well-insulated.

There is a sweet holiday air given by various ideas, such as the floating library – suspended thanks to the repurposing of construction scaffolding –, the large tree overlooking the entrance – the backbone of the house is playfully disguised. The contrasts are balanced to create harmonies that do not disturb, but rather convey that feeling of peace and relaxation, making any guest feel at ease.

The stone exterior perfectly harmonizes with the location of this tiny village, from which you can enjoy a pleasant view. The mild Ligurian climate facilitates the festive evenings with friends, in fact, the highly-equipped garden patio becomes almost a large living room and an open-air dining room in summer, while in winter the large arch windows allow you to also enjoy the greenery while sitting in the warm atmosphere of the rustic kitchen.
