A dialogue between materials and landscape in one of Costa Rica’s most captivating coastal locations
Located in the evocative setting of Dominical, one of Costa Rica’s most captivating coastal destinations, this residence explores contemporary living as a deep connection between architecture, nature, and sensory experience.
Designed by Alianz Estudio, the project is conceived as an architectural exercise where the balance between compositional rigour and the spontaneity of the natural context gives rise to a language that is both essential and expressively charged.

The concept is centred on the juxtaposition of natural elements and refined forms, with a sculptural stone structure serving as the visual and symbolic heart of the home. This monolithic volume, rooted in the landscape, evokes the primal power of the location, acting as a mediator between the tactile richness of the terrain and the lightness of the architectural lines.

Expansive terraces, lush and unrestrained gardens, a generously proportioned pool, and subtly traced pathways are integrated into the natural vegetation in a measured and respectful way, creating an immersive architectural landscape. The functional layout has been designed to offer a living experience rich in emotional resonance.

This project succeeds in interpreting the beauty of the tropical setting through a design language that is coherent, sensitive, and thoroughly contemporary; an invitation to rethink the concept of dwelling as a poetic gesture, a total immersion in both materials and landscape.
