Designing the balance between tradition and modernity
In the heart of Turin, within an iconic 1960s building known for its architectural quality, an apartment overlooking the greenery of Parco del Valentino becomes the scene of a sophisticated dialogue between the past and the present.
The project, symbolically named “Manhattan in Turin,” seeks a combination of local bourgeois elegance and a cosmopolitan aesthetic inspired by liveliness and dynamism.

The approach to the project was conservative, aimed at preserving and enhancing the existing details while maintaining the functional layout. Special attention was given to the decorative details such as internal doors and wainscoting, whose theatrical character represents a precious testimony of the bourgeois and Turinese interior design of the 1960s.

To emphasize the connection between tradition and modernity, the furniture was carefully selected to interact with the existing elements. Contemporary design pieces coexist with vintage items, while the walls feature works inspired by pop art, evoking the dynamic aesthetic of 1960s Manhattan.
The decorative stuccoes on the ceiling, restored with great precision, harmoniously interact with contemporary works, creating a balance between classical and modern lines. Finally, the lighting alternates vintage elements with minimalist solutions, emphasizing the proportions of the spaces and enhancing the surfaces.

“Manhattan in Turin” is not just an apartment, but a lifestyle and style project that reinterprets the roots of a space through the prism of contemporary life. Each room, with its specificity and function, creates a complex and coherent narrative.
