Enveloping and refined, this home reveals consistent and velvety environments thanks to the wood, which becomes the star of a renovation carried out to perfection.
In a historic hamlet in the Susa Valley, which still keeps alive its traditional features, an entire original lodge has been restored. The project is signed by architect Giorgio Ferraris, who managed the restoration in collaboration with the owners, sensitive and conscious people.
This synergy defined spaces, practicality and warmth, typical of these homes, are completely imbued with charm and details that make it an excellent living space.

Architect Ferraris told us about this bespoke transformation: “On the attic floor, there is the large living room, the kitchen, the relaxation/TV area, the master bedroom with bathroom, a guest bathroom, a laundry room, and a storage room; downstairs, there is a kind of annexe, also equipped with an independent entrance, with the children’s bedroom, the living room and two bathrooms.”
A very interesting flat, also for the widespread presence of larch wood, typical of the woods of the valleys in which the mentioned village is located, which marks the structure of the roof, envelops walls and floors and then turns into furniture, optimizing with charm every corner. The walls, however, are made of fir wood.

The architect continued: “The addition of a contemporary housing use in a rural building is a fascinating theme. In this case, the building has externally preserved its historical, traditional and landscape appearance. The new housing purpose was achieved gently, using traditional materials and highlighting the simplicity and minimal linearity of the traditional house.”

The result confirms a path where elegance and comfort are in great harmony, emphasizing the concept that sees the mountain house as a retreat: you can immerse yourself in an enveloping nest, while outside nature offers its changing embrace, enchanting in every season.
