Art gallery and concept store, Moiré Gallery Milano is located in via Borgonuovo 5, one of the most beautiful historic and elegant streets in Milan, between the fashion district and the Brera district, in the heart of art, design and luxury shopping.

Inside a historic building from the 1700s protected by the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, Moiré Gallery Milano offers, in a noble and elegant context of great charm, a dynamic and attentive dialogue between art, fashion and design. Here, experimentation, excellence, research and the avant-garde find their ideal dimension: a refined and multifaceted environment that is aimed at a cosmopolitan public sensitive to beauty in all its forms of expression.

A concert made up of works of art, installations, contemporary and vintage design objects, limited editions, unique and unobtainable pieces, iconic clothes and accessories, but also new collections and capsules, both on the national and international scene. The conductor: Ouafa Tahoun, founder and curator of Moiré Gallery, author of the selection of artists, works and maisons present in the gallery.

Moiré Gallery Milano is an immersive and exclusive experience, in the name of calm and sophisticated luxury, of refinement. It is maximum attention to detail, to unique proposals, never predictable. It is a place of enchantment and reflection, of meetings and research, of emotions and ideas. A multifunctional environment that hosts exhibitions, vernissages, exclusive events, meetings with artists and exhibitions from time to time, accessed by appointment only. A welcoming and discreet space, a point of union between art, fashion and design, an experience capable of offering different perspectives through which to immerse yourself in these three dimensions.

The very name of the Gallery is a trait d’union between these three worlds. “Moiré“, in fact, is a term that is found in all three areas: art, fashion and design. In fashion, it is a type of one-color fabric with a wavy and furrowed effect surface like the veins and streaks of marble, giving it a shiny and silky look.

“Moiré” is also found in the field of design: fromiridescent effect which characterizes brocades and ancient silks, to contemporary interpretations ranging from sofas, to carpets, passing through wallpapers; up to the world of art where with “effect Moiré” means a particular optical phenomenon that is created when two or more grids, or similar motifs, are superimposed creating a flicker or visual interference effect. Defined as kinetic art or optical art, the first research into the possibility and ways of reproducing movement through optical effects can be traced from the first half of the 19th century onwards.

OUAFA TAHOUN

«I dreamed of a place to combine my passions, I founded Moiré Gallery Milano». Born under the sign of stubbornness and initiative, Ouafa Tahoun, after 20 years of experience in luxury retail, decides to create a project of her own, which could combine her three great passions: fashion, art and design. Thus was born, in 2022, Moiré Gallery Milano.

In his career, Ouafa Tahoun has covered the role of Sales Manager and Store Director for renowned luxury brands, dealing not only with the development of the store business, but also with the management of events and customer experiences created to measure for customers. Attention to detail, customer care, the ability to listen, intuit, fulfill dreams and desires, to give unique experiences and why not emotions too, are Ouafa Tahoun‘s signature style. A baggage full of the right amount of competence, preparation and sensitivity that proved to be invaluable in giving life to his new professional adventure.

The experience acquired over the years, the work training, the travels undertaken around the world, the cities where she lived, the network of people and contacts cultivated with dedication and seriousness, have allowed her to lay the foundations for giving life to the «dream that has always been cradled».

In Moiré Gallery Milano, a large-scale project studied down to the smallest detail, Ouafa Tahoun brings all his passion, tenacity, preparation and his attentive gaze on the world and its evolutionary dynamics.
