Singer Palace Hotel, A dream to share

The twenty flawless rooms and ten suites of the Singer Palace Hotel offer the comfort of a dream still possible.

Dreaming means indulging in precious and exceptional pampering, owning a magical place overlooking history: this dream is the Singer Palace Hotel, one of the most luxurious hotels in the capital.

The Visocchi family chased this dream to turn it into reality – allowing other people to dream too –, by renovating in 2018 the original Art Nouveau building that stands between the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and the Spanish Steps, enhancing it and transforming it into an ultra-chic boutique hotel.

The charming building dates back to 1931 and was built by Sir Douglas Alexander, 1st Baronet, based on a project by architect Mario Loreti, to make it the Italian headquarters and showroom of the Singer Corporation, the famous sewing machine manufacturer.

Already the following year, in 1932, it was published by the architecture magazine Domus to later become the iconic meeting point of the fashion world. Its timeless elegance and enchanting aesthetics undoubtedly elevate the Singer Palace to one of the most representative examples of Italian Art Nouveau architecture, which has remained virtually unchanged.

The central element of the hotel is the majestic staircase inCipollino d’Arni marble, finished with a curved metal balustrade embellished with Bakelite details and a walnut handrail.

The secret is here: restoring without distorting, and preserving with love and architectural devotion the philology and the identity of an important building like the Singer Palace.

A very successful operation also thanks to the Milanese interior designer Elisa Ferrari, who made contemporary furniture coexist with period architecture, establishing the leitmotif of an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. Shared areas feature bright velvet sofas and distressed leather butterfly chairs.

The rooftop on the fifth floor boasts a unique view of the monuments and the churches of the Eternal City. There is also the restaurant Le Terrazze, which offers a unique menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, expertly prepared by chef Alessandro. On the same level, there is also the Jim’s Bar, with 1920s-inspired cocktails and original reinterpretations of the great classics.

More than a hotel, the Singer Palace has the allure of a private maison where luxury and service are the cornerstones of high-end hospitality.
