An old country house has found a new life, thanks to a conservative restoration that has not altered its architectural peculiarities.
Giving new life to an old country house and restoring it, avoiding any waste, was the common thread that pushed Ewa and Adam to move from Warsaw to the Mazovia region. Two elements convinced the couple to buy and restore the small and delightful building: the pale-green painted porch in the centre of the facade and the weeping willow behind the house.

The changes in the new layout of spaces affected the enlarged kitchen by reducing the bathroom; the original staircase was preserved as well as the beautiful coloured majolica stoves.
Upstairs, the floor was made using recycled wooden planks, while the window overlooking the terrace was redesigned, to give more light to the room.

The furnishings have a variety of origins but are all recycled, because, as the homeowner says, “it is both cheaper and more eco-friendly”.
Outside, one of the most poetic corners boasts an old metal bathtub, reclaimed from the house; made functional for relaxing summer baths, it is not far from the terrace adjacent to the living room.

The modern kitchen is linear and all white, with a natural wood top; opposite, there is still the rustic pre-war kitchen with nostalgic white tiles with rounded corners. This combination is beautiful: it is the common thread of continuity.
