BIRD PARADISE

11/07/2023

In Milanówek, a residential area on the outskirts of Warsaw, this magnificent residence with classic lines is completely immersed in nature, far from the clamour of the capital.

As the inscription on the main façade states, “Bird Paradise” is a pleasant residence, surrounded by a wellkept 2hectare park, in Milanówek, in the Masovian Voivodeship, about 40 km from Warsaw.

The main building covers an area of about 600 square metres; it has a very elegant hemicycleshaped prothyrum with pairs of white columns, like the entire façade, and patios to relax, sheltered from the summer sun.

The park that surrounds the building is full of small lakes with Japanese carp – one of which has a small private beach –, then, there are bridges, beehives, peacock aviaries, Baroquestyle fountains, and a copious variety of ornamental plants.

The homeowners are Ewa and Piotr, who followed all the works, assisted by architects, including Adam Dziedzicki, who took care of the heart of the whole dwelling: the kitchen, added to the preexisting building.

The goal was to recreate a comfortable New Yorkstyle space with lots of windows to enjoy the beautiful garden.

Topquality materials have been used to finish the house: different shades of marble and travertine, as well as two types of wood for the flooring.

The entrance boasts a huge Murano glass chandelier, plated in gold and tailormade, imported directly from Italy.

On the ground floor, the entrance with the cloakroom leads into a large living space, consisting of a living room with a fireplace, an airy dining room for 12 people and a bathroom.

The floor of the bathroom and the walls are covered with travertine slabs, while the furniture comes from antique markets, such as the commode transformed into a very elegant washbasin.

Most of the curtains and the selected fabrics used throughout the house come from Magdalena Kucharska’s studio.

The first floor is accessed via a spectacular and sinuous staircase. It has three bedrooms, together with a bathroom finished in Portuguese red marble with two wardrobes. T

he rooms have Spanishmade furniture; the headboard and padded curtains were chosen by Magdalena Kucharska’s studio.

The angels hanging on the walls were purchased in Italy.

The children’s bedroom has an ensuite that highlights the azure blue stone finishes. In the same bedroom, there are narrow stairs that lead to a further very private living room located in the attic.

It is a truly intimate and cosy environment, it looks like a fairytale room in the clouds from which you can enjoy the peacocks and white pigeons in the garden, as well as the trees and very green meadows, the small trails that dot the park, but also the flowering plants after the snowy winter, from February to late autumn.
