In one of the most prestigious residential areas of Turin, a recent renovation enriches an interior design with a classic taste, adding tone-on-tone decorations and custom-made furnishings.
“For me and my family – made up of four people –, I would like a tailor-made, elegant environment with a style between Paris and NYC.”This was the customer’s request during the first meeting with the architects of Officina 8A,which has signed the renovation project of this 220-sqm flat located in the Crocetta district, the “living room” of Turin.
A project that summarizes a complex union of shapes and creativity, while always preserving a lively fluidity and elegance.
The chromatic neutrality – which acts as the background to this interior design project – revives as soon as you cross the threshold, thanks to a brushstroke of colour given by the soft shapes of the sofa that dominates the oak parquet.

Then, in the living room, several elements enhance the brightness, elegance and comfort of the classy Edra sofa. The Melt lights by – Tom Dixon in mirrored PMMA with their charm and organic movement appear like soap bubbles floating in space; the plaster wainscoting embellishes the walls with delicate tone- on-tone embossment.
Shapes, lines and volumes – created by custom furnishings and precious contrasting materials – give the space a set of elements wisely balanced by a sought- after lighting design study, amplified by mirrored walls.
The tailor-made pieces of furniture designed by Officina 8A come from local sources and are made by skilled artisans… Such as the custom-made wainscoting that wraps and embellishes the walls in the living room, enhanced by the large mirror that emphasizes the modern marble fireplace.

From the enveloping living area, we move to the girls’ sleeping area, through a corridor that arranges the rooms, marked by a pop-art work by a local artist, enlivened by modern wallpaper placed throughout the bathroom, creating a cheerful and dynamic transition between the environments.
The master bedroom boasts custom-designed wainscoting with square modules, repeated on the entire wall like a geometric embossment, becoming the perfect background for the elegant Tooy lamps.

The master bathroom and the walk-in closet are connected to the sleeping area; the walk-in closet gives the space glamour and elegance and boasts transparency effects and reflections.
The piece of furniture that makes up the walk-in closet was custom-made and hand-crafted; the low end – which is actually a piece of furniture – becomes a chest of drawers that hides a seat for the make-up area.
Through this wall, the piece of furniture enters the bathroom and acts as a support for the two washbasins. The walls are covered with a resin finish that gives the space consistency, elegance and personality.
