An enchanting renovated country house with a super panoramic view: a plus that adds energy and well-being to everyday life.
One might wonder: how can we not be happy and feel fully at home when nature firstly embraces us? A bed of arboreal and shrubby essences seems to support the structure, wrapping it in a thousand different shades according to the seasons.
On the horizon, we can admire the lake with a ring of mountains and, within easy reach, the water mirror of the large infinity pool. Nothing is missing to satisfy the eyes, body and soul, which can easily benefit from so many enchanting scenarios.

Therefore, an interesting project, achieved through a major renovation carried out by Studio Di Architettura Primatesta, which made the building ideal for the context and its intended use.
We are in Carcegna, a small village located on the slopes of Mottarone, just above Lake Orta and a few kilometres from the medieval town of Orta San Giulio, a famous tourist resort.
In the renovation of this 1960s country house, the designer wanted to recreate the look of a house by the sea, referring to the architecture of the houses on the islands of Filicudi, Panarea and Lipari: rounded corners, the prevalence of white, large use of wood and iron.
There is, in fact, a lot of white, both inside and outside, to make the house bright and relaxing, almost as if it does not want to disturb the natural background that leaks from the windows and terraces.

The plaster, in traditional lime with a “marmorino” effect, and the travertine floor from the Tivoli quarries enhance the result. The absence of edges, replaced by rounded corners, gives softness and graceful elegance to the rooms, almost creating an ethereal effect.
The steel doors and windows of the living room call to mind the features of seaside houses, with a minimal section. The fir wood of the doors – as well as that of the kitchen furniture, the wardrobes and the bathroom – has been reclaimed from the old barns.
In the relaxation area, a ribbon window becomes a natural picture, with San Giulio Island in the centre; here, you can enjoy a splendid lake view while sitting comfortably on the sofa. A few steps lead to the porch: a further large space overlooking the garden and the olive trees, protected by white curtains and used in the best seasons as a dining area.

Even the kitchen – placed under a face that defines it – and the dining room overlook the outside, breaking boundaries and promoting life in the open air and in the surrounding nature.
The “sensitivity to reuse” adopted by Studio Primatestais also reflected in the chestnut wood tables of the dining area, both indoor and outdoor, coming from the dismantlement of an old convent.
The sleeping area maintains the same enchanting style, delicate and chromatically neutral, which lets the surrounding nature speak, so close that it seems we can grab it by reaching out.
